In this article, you can find all Yatri electric motorcycles with their latest prices and availability in the market. But before we begin, let’s go through a brief history of Nepal’s own EV startup.
Brief History of Yatri – Nepal’s own EV startup
Say whatever you want about the company, but the journey of Yatri, the Nepal-based EV bike maker, has been a rollercoaster of a ride. The EV startup first came into the limelight in 2021 when it unveiled the first proof-of-concept of its first motorbike, which we all know today as the flagship Project Zero.
Everyone was pretty hyped up because of Yatri’s promise of a local EV bike for the Nepalese biker community. That said, it kinda backfired when the company announced its first commercial product — Project 1 (or P-1, or P1).
For starters, the P1 looked nothing like the bulked-up P-0 that the masses were expecting, and it cost a whopping NPR 495,000 for the base variant at the initial pre-order. Yatri’s flagship bike, on the other hand, was beyond the reach of the average Joe with an initial price tag of NPR 19,49,000.
Yatri delivered the first P1 bikes in 2022 after having sold out the first batch of the electric two-wheeler in a year.
But problems for Yatri weren’t done for.
For about a year, owners of Yatri P1 bikes were unable to register their bikes at the Transport Management Office because of the provision that mandated import documents, like a complete customs declaration form and receipt of customs duty receipt, which Yatri, being a local manufacturer, could not provide.
After a public outcry broke out on the matter, PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” directed concerned authorities to make amends to the existing vehicle registration process.
As a result, The P-1 bike with the ‘Bagmati State 02 Ba 43 Pa 8650’ number plate was registered based on the Value Added Tax (VAT) Bill and Excise Clearance Form on May 15 — marking the year of P1’s launch.

Yatri P1 Gen 2 Bike:
Yatri has been subtly teasing the next evolution of its first commercial EV bike since the end of October 2023. Yatri made the first proper announcement of Project One Gen 2 through its social media in December 2023.
Yatri has announced that the upcoming P1 Gen 2 will be the world’s first electric two-wheeler with wireless Apple AirPlay and Android Auto integration. Likewise, it has partnered with Sipradi for research, development, and manufacturing.
The renders showcased so far do not hint at any design overhaul. Yatri says it has analyzed over 1 million KM road data, among other user feedback. So, we can expect software tweaks along with some mechanical upgrades, at the very least.
