Redmi 13 4G launches with Helio G91, HyperOS in Nepal

Xiaomi has launched a new budget phone under Redmi branding in Nepal. The new Redmi 13 4G sits right above the 13C in the company’s product lineup. In this article, we will discuss Redmi 13 in more detail, including its key features, technical specifications, latest price, and availability in Nepal.

Xiaomi Redmi 13 4G overview

Redmi 13 4G is the successor to last year’s Redmi 12 and brings a number of changes, particularly in the chipset and camera.

MediaTek G91 Ultra Chipset

The Redmi 13 4G is powered by the new MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chipset, which was announced back in February. It replaces the Helio G88 on the Redmi 12. However, the difference between the two chipsets is trivial.

When it comes to raw power, Helio G91 and Helio G88 are quite identical. Both rock an octa-core CPU with 2 Cortex-A75 (2.0 GHz) ‘performance’ and 6 Cortex-A55 (1.8 GHz) cores. Even the GPU is identical — Mali G52 MC2 (1.0 GHz).

That said, Helio G91 has an updated Image Signal Processing (ISP) unit for support for 108MP camera.

108MP primary camera

Xiaomi has fully utilized the updated ISP on the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra chip by going for a 108MP primary shooter on the Redmi 13 4G. It has a 1/1.67″ sensing area and uses 9-in-1 pixel binning to crunch out 12MP pictures.

Just below it lies the 2MP sensor for macro shooting.

As for selfies, there is a 13MP front-facing camera, up from 8MP, enclosed by the center-aligned punch-hole cutout.

Redmi 13 4G can take 1080p 30fps both from front and rear cameras.

HyperOS and Flat Notification

Redmi 13 4G runs on HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box. Thus, you don’t have to wait for an update to try Xiaomi’s latest software skin (UI). Xiaomi says the phone is optimized to ‘retail out-of-box user experience even after 36 months of regular use.’

Xiaomi has promised an OTA update, after which users can use the Ring Flash on the back for notifications and alerts when the screen is off.

90Hz AdaptiveSync display

Redmi 13 is built around a 6.79-inch LCD screen with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. The AdaptiveSync technology means the refresh rate changes as per the app being used. The typical brightness is 450 nits, but it can hit up to 550 nits under High Brightness Mode (HBM). It also has DC Dimming and Flicker Free certification from TÜV Rheinland.

Glass sandwich design

Coming to build, Redmi 13 4G has a glass sandwich design with a Gorilla Glass front panel. The frames are flat, as with recent Redmi phones. The phone is pretty slim, measuring just 8.3mm in thickness. The camera rings at the back, which should result in a wobble when the phone is placed on a flat surface.

Moreover, the phone has IP53 dust and water resistance.

Battery and charging

The Redmi 13 4G gets its juice from a 5030mAh battery that can last up to 19 days of standby time. It supports 33W fast charging, and a compatible charger is included in the box.
