Xiaomi has brought its latest budget wireless earbuds to Nepal. Redmi Buds 5 replaces last year’s Buds 4 with a number of changes and improvements. It has undergone a design overhaul, bringing a bigger audio driver, enhanced transparency, and longer battery life—all that while costing significantly less.

So, let’s discuss the Xiaomi Redmi Buds 5 in more detail, exploring its specifications, features, and latest deals and offers.

Redmi Buds 5 Overview

Design

Redmi Buds 5 brings some changes in the design aspect, switching to a stem design and a suitcase-like top-opening charging case.

The individual earbuds are actually heavier than last year. That said, most of the 5.3 grams weight is focused on the ear when worn, resulting in a better fit overall.

On the other hand, the charging chase has lost some weight. It houses a nano-coated pulse-light LED stripe on the inside.

The color schemes have remained the same: Black, White, and Sky Blue. The latter differs from the rest as its charge case internal features a dual-tone finish.

Audio Features

At the heart of the Buds 5 is a 12.4mm dynamic driver and polymeric titanium-plated diaphragm. An independent sound chamber further enhances the frequency response and audio consistency.

The earbuds have four built-in EQ modes. The Standard mode is enabled by default, but users can change it to enhance voice, treble, or bass.

And while Redmi has improved the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) coverage to 46dB, it is not adaptive. This means users will have to switch between the three ANC modes manually: Light, Balanced, and Deep.

The transparency also has three levels: Regular, Voice, and Ambient Sound. The Buds 5 also has AI-backed noise cancellation, with two microphones highlighting the user’s voice while also negating outside noise.

Connectivity

Redmi Buds 5 supports Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. It can even connect to two devices simultaneously.

Redmi has included Google Fast Pair for seamless connection to Android smartphones. This feature even allows users to ring the earbuds from their phone’s Bluetooth setting in case they are misplaced.

Likewise, they can check battery levels, change noise cancellation, and customize touch controls using the Xiaomi Earbuds app.

Battery and Charging

Each earbud packs a 54mAh battery, allowing up to 10 hours of listening time without ANC turned off. The charging case has a 480mAh battery, contributing to the 40 hours of combined battery life.

The earbuds support fast charging through a Type-C port. A 5-minute charge can add up to 2 hours of playback time.

Redmi Buds 5 Price in Nepal and Availability

The Redmi Buds 5 is priced at Rs. 4,999 in Nepal. For reference, the last-gen Redmi Buds 4 cost Rs. 6,499.

Yes, you heard it right. Xiaomi’s new pair of earbuds is more affordable than its predecessor.
