Fresh off the launch of phone (2), Nothing’s Nepal division has now teased the arrival of ear (a) in the country. The Nothing ear (a) is the company’s latest affordable true wireless earbuds. It was announced alongside its bigger sibling, the Nothing ear, and also brings a lot of its premium quirks.
So, let’s dive deeper into the Nothing ear (a), discussing its key features, specifications, price, and availability in Nepal.
Nothing ear (a)
Design
Let’s start with the most striking feature of any Nothing product — the design. The ear (a) continues the transparent design that the brand is known for. The earbuds themselves look a lot like their pricier sibling.
That said, they bring a new Yellow colour option in addition to the usual Black and White options. The transparent design and color options extend to the charging case, which sports a more rectangular form factor with a bubble-like design.
Audio
Inside, the ear (a) packs 11mm dynamic drivers with PMI + TPU diaphragms. The earbuds have two new air vents that improve airflow and, in return, the overall clarity of the audio output.
Nothing has tuned the earbuds with its Bass Enhance algorithm. There are four pre-built audio presets: More Bass, Balanced, Voice, and More Treble. You can also setup custom preset using the equalizer on the Nothing X app.
The ear (a) supports LDAC code and has Hi-Res Audio certification.

Active Noise Cancellation
Nothing has equipped the ear (a) with its strongest active noise cancellation technology. It claims the earbuds can effectively cancel out noise of up to 45 dB.
The earbuds can dynamically adjust the ANC according to your surroundings and leakage between the earbuds and your ear canal.
ChatGPT and other features
Nothing ear (a) supports dual-connection and is compatible with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair. It also has in-ear detection and low latency mode.
You can use the Nothing ear (a) to access ChatGPT with your voice. ChatGPT is also integrated into the Nothing X app as widgets.
Battery life and charging
Finally, each earbud packs a 46mAh battery rated for up to 9.5 hours of playback. The case extends the playback to up to 42.5 hours with its 500mAh battery.
With ANC turned on, you can expect playback time of up to 5.5 hours and 24.5 hours without and with case, respectively.
10 minutes of quick charge can add an additional 10 hours of combined playback. There is no wireless charging support on the Nothing ear (a).
