CMF Phone 1, the first smartphone from Nothing’s budget-focused sub-brand, is finally here. The device is available in two configurations with the pricing starting at Rs 36,999. Let’s discuss the CMF phone in more detail, including its design, technical specifications, latest price and offers in Nepal.
CMF Phone 1 overview
CMF Phone 1 is the cheapest phone from Nothing to date. It beat the Nothing phone (2a) for the title, which is interesting as the two phones are powered by the same MediaTek processor and have other common features.
Removable Back Panel
The back panel has been a differentiating factor in all Nothing phones. All phones from Nothing so far have transparent backs with Gylph interfaces. The CMF Phone 1 breaks this tradition by sporting an opaque plastic back.
That said, Nothing has added its own spin to it by implementing screws. Users can buy extra panels and can install them by unscrewing the default one with the tool provided by Nothing. They come with color-matching SIM-card slot cover and dials. That said, these replacement back panels are not available in Nepal right now.

Likewise, there is no news on whether CG will bring any of the CMF Phone 1 accessories to Nepal. In the global market, Nothing sells a lanyard, a kickstand, and a card case that users can attach to the phone using the dial-like mounting point.
Even with the removable back, Nothing has managed to make the CMF Phone 1 IP52 rated.
Display
Flipping the phone, you are greeted with a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED screen with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout. The chin is slightly thicker than the top and the side bezels. This makes it the first Nothing smartphone with asymmetrical bezels.
Moving on, the screen refreshes at 120Hz and posts a peak brightness of 2000 nits. The typical brightest is 700 nits. It also boasts 240Hz touch sampling rate and 960Hz PWM frequency. Nothing has not confirmed any protection glass on the phone.
Under the screen lies the optical fingerprint screen reader for biometric-based phone unlock.
Processor
Under the hood, the phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G chipset with 4 Cortex A78 cores (at 2.5GHz) and 4 Cortex A55 cores (2GHz). The graphics are handled by Mali-G615 MP2. The whole package is fabricated by TSMC using its 4nm process.

Bloat-free Software
CMF Phone runs on Nothing OS 2.6 (based on Android 14) out of the box. It is guaranteed to get 2 major Android updates and 3 years of security patches. Nothing takes pride in its software skin being bloat and ad-free. The Nothing OS is lightweight with minimal customization and ChatGPT integration.
Camera
There is a noticeable cost-cutting done on the CMF Phone 1 camera setup as it lacks an ultrawide module. The dual camera consists of a 50MP primary camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. The main camera lacks optical image stabilization but can record at 4K/30fps.
Nothing has included a 16MP image sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. It can record videos at 1080p/30fps.

Battery and Charging
CMF Phone draws power from its 5,000mAh battery. Despite the back being replaceable, the battery is not user-replaceable as it is still sealed with the rest of the internal components. The phone supports 33W fast charging, but you will have to buy a charger separately as Nothing doesn’t include one in the box.
CMF Phone 1 Price in Nepal and Availability
The price of CMF Phone 1 in Nepal is Rs 36,999 for the 8/128GB variant. Likewise, the 8/256GB configuration has an asking price of Rs 41,4999 in Nepal.
You can buy the phone from CG Digital, Daraz and other authorized stores across Nepal.
The pricing is on the higher side as CMF Phone 1 costs INR 17,999 (~ NPR 28,999) in India. The India even gets the cheaper 6/128GB model which costs INR 15,999 or some Rs 25,4999 in Nepali rupees.
