Samsung has wasted no time bringing the Samsung Galaxy A55 to Nepal following its March 11 launch. It is the latest midrange phone from Samsung and builds on last year’s Galaxy A54.

The A55 is as good as it gets for Samsung mid-range phones, even drawing some features from the expensive S series.

To start, Samsung Galaxy A55 now features Knox Vault, which protects your data from attacks by containing it in a physical location away from the main processor.

The phone feels more premium with the glass sandwich design and metal frame.

This, together with Samsung’s decision to go with a bigger 6.6-inch Super AMOLED panel, has made the phone slightly bigger and heavier.

Samsung has raised part of the right frame for the “Key Island,” which houses the power button and volume rocker.

We believe it will be a signature design for all A-series phones in 2024.

Another feature that we have noticed sweeping into the A-series is the Vision Booster. It was first introduced in last year’s S23 series.

Its inclusion on the Samsung Galaxy A55 means the screen can reach upto 1000 nits of brightness (High Brightness Mode) under different lighting conditions.

Samsung has also opted for flagship-level Gorilla Glass Victus+ glass for the 120Hz FHD display. It adds to IP68 protection against dust and water.

Samsung has got you covered on the software front, too. The Galaxy A55 ships with the latest One UI 6.0 based on Android 14. It is also guaranteed to get 4 years of major OS upgrades and an additional year of security patches.

The specs sheet doesn’t reveal a massive change in the camera department. You are getting the same trio of 50MP primary (OIS), 12MP ultrawide, and 5MP macro sensors.

That said, Samsung promises better low-light photography courtesy of the new Image Signal Processing (ISP). There are Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Video Digital Image Stabilization (VDIS) to keep frames stable during shoots.

Finally, Samsung Galaxy A55 is powered by the Exynos 1480 5G chip, which features the new Xclipse 530 GPU. It gets its power from the 5000mAh battery, which supports 25W wired charging.
